MSC Cruises have today announced a new budget cruise line, operating as MSC Pod Cruises the ships will operate a regular service between the Far East and Europe.

The first ship will enter service next year and will accommodate 13000 PODs.

Inspired by the leading Japanese hotel format of small PODs. MSC will take this a step further with the option of Cruise & Stay, as the 20ft Pods can be unloaded and freighted by road to your destination.

A spokesman for Cruise1st, a leading cruise retailer, Miss Primia Aprile said that they had received a lot of interest in the option, with Ocean Voyages starting at $500 per twenty foot unit they are sure to be a top seller.
